ICF Pre-Registered Users' Support Centre:
Welcome to the ICF support area. Below you will find useful & simple tips about initial ICF install. All issues on pre-install are locally based & are easily solved. (You can print this page for IT/person installing ICF)
1: Install ICF: Please ensure you install (not copy). Copying/ghosting will corrupt files. A single installation of ICF onto the network server driver/folder will save drive space & share data(eg: saving of students' work).
2: Ensure Security Permissions: Please ensure on initial installation that ICF is given correct permissions by your Antivirus & Firewall security programs.
3: Network Permissions & Settings:
All files & folders should be readable & executable by all users.
"Export" & "Resource data" folders should have full permissions (including write) for all users.
NB: Network & other security permissions may require local optimisation to restrict pupil access to servers etc. (This is a local issue).
4: Re-start server: Please ensure that the PC/server is re-started upon installation of new software particularly prior to full networking. Once installed to network & permissions set:
1: ICF Set up, Registration & Advanced Features Access the orange ICF icon on your desktop (This is the icon for both teaching staff & pupils to access ICF)
Access the "Staff Room" from the welcome screen (access is via default password found in the literature in your ICF software box)
Select the "Advanced Features" tab.
Once connected to the ICF site, simply follow the registration process online.
You will now receive an activation e-mail for your "Advanced Features" activation code. Copy & paste advanced features code into the: "Registration: #" box >>Click Here (example)
- Completely exit ICF to your desktop for a few minutes before using (this locks the code into the software's database to take effect).
Registering has the following benefits: You receive your "Advanced Features" activation code You can then print your site licence and manage your details. You can via the staffroom & ICF support site register multiple staff & access the full support area for behaviour/teaching & IT staff. Teaching & behaviour staff should familiarise themselves with the use of ICF with the 7 minute walkthrough. Accessible via the: icon which is on the dektop on installation. NB: You should only shortcut this to workstations being accessed by teaching staff. The walkthrough is not for pupils.
